Alabama Football and Zoom-A-Thon

First of all Roll Tide!! Below I am with my friend Celisa. We met up before the Alabama - Arkansas game.

This is before the game. Thankfully, our seats are under the upper deck, so we are always in the shade and covered in case of rain!
Last week the kids had their fall fund raiser at school Each year they get sponsors for the run called, Zoom-a-thon! It is so much fun! I have helped out each year by marking the kids' shirts for each lap their run. There is loud music, the school mascot and the run mascot, Z. The kids love it!!
This is James' class making their first lap around before they begin running.
Sorry, this are out of order, James is on the left holding one of their class signs. This is before they begin too.
Annamarye and some classmates enjoying a Popsicle afterwards:)
Annamarye with her teacher, Mrs. Easterling.
James and his good friend Daniel. Yes, I see the Florida jersey! That is why I took the picture. I asked him if he and James would still be friends after we win the game. This was Saturday afternoon. They were so funny calling each other during the game. Of course Bama won!!

Football and Candy Corn

I don't know where last week went?! I started this post on Friday? and now it is Monday.

The picture on the left is Annamarye, Abby, Scott, Alex, and James. Abby, Scott and Alex are siblings. As you can see Scott is in the band at Alabama. This was taken before the Alabama - North Texas game. Johnny was in the band at Alabama with Scott's parents, Sam and Lisa. Wow!

We met up with them before the game.

This is our cousin Shelby. You may remember her from last year. This is her 3rd year on the flag team:)

Somehow my pictures got mixed up. Anyway, this is one of the treat bags I put together for the kids' teachers. I started out doing some fall colored hand towels. Then when the new White Chocolate Candy Corn M & Ms came out I had to add that to the treat. You really need to try them! But be warned, they are very sweet!
You can only find them at Walmart.

Here is Annamarye with Shelby and some of her friends. Last year James took a picture like this and was thrilled to show it to his buddies. This year he was a little too embarrassed.

Alabama Football

Last Saturday after James' football game we headed to Tuscaloosa for the Bama game! We met up with Johnny's cousin, Pat and his wife Leslie. Here's the picture James took.

They both went to Auburn and are big Auburn fans. Here is their daughter, Shelby with Annamarye and James.
I'm not sure if they have completely converted, but it is a start!

This is Shelby's 2nd year on the flag team at Alabama. Last year we weren't able to meet up with her to get a picture. I was determined to get one this year.

All of the band members were super nice! Shelby asked if the kids wanted a picture with a large group of girls. One quick snap and the kids were surrounded!
They both loved it! In fact this morning on the way to school James was showing this picture to Matthew and Tucker and I heard him telling them he hit the "jackpot"!

Roll Tide Roll

A friend posted this on facebook. It was just too good not to pass along! Roll Tide!

NEWS ALERT NEWS ALERT!!! Auburn practice was delayed for 2 hrs yesterday after a player reported finding a white substance on the field. Practice was suspended while federal agents were called in. After a complete analysis, experts determined that the white substances unknown to the player was the goal line!!! Practice... was resumed after the agents decided the Tigers were unlikely to encounter the substance again.

Bama and Batons

Wow what a game!! Congrats to Alabama for a fabulous win and National Championship!! I am sure my Dad was celebrating in heaven!

James was so excited that we said he could stay up and watch all of the game. Since it was a Thursday night and just one more day of school this week, we said he could. Well he did great, but fell asleep near the end of the game. We even tried to wake him up but he was out!

Here's James when he was 2 years old. We were visiting friends in Oklahoma and James got sick. He still has that little baby face - at least to me he does!

Last night Annamarye's baton class twirled at halftime of the Oak Mountain High School basketball game. They did really well. Especially since they haven't had a class since early December!

Here's Annamarye (in the middle) with her friends Emiline (left) and Sellers (right). They are twins.

The Alabama football team is headed to Pasadena, not me. I wish I was going though. Johnny and I went to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta. All I can say is INCREDIBLE!!!

The next picture is from Monday while out running errands I saw this on a car and had to snap a picture!

Here's the finished reindeer food project Annamarye and I were working on while the boys were working on the basketball goal.

More from Thanksgiving Weekend!

Friday was the Iron Bowl! The Tuesday before Thanksgiving the kids got to wear their team colors to school. At the end of the day they had an Alabama - Auburn pep rally. The teachers competed in crazy games such as musical chairs, football throw and dressed the principal and assistant principal up as scarecrows. The teachers for Alabama won!!

Our friend Wes spent Thanksgiving at his parents house and came to our house Friday. We watched the game - without breathing I might add. It wasn't pretty, but Alabama won and that is all that counts. So we are headed to the SEC championship game to play Florida.

It seems whenever Wes visits we always put him to work. It is usually fixing some computer problem, but we have had him move furniture. This time it was digging a hole and pouring concrete! About a month ago my neighbor, who works for a sporting goods company, told me about some basketball goals on clearance. We needed a new one so we bought one. Got a great deal - a $400 goal for $50. Johnny said he could install it, but since this is a really busy time for us I called around to see about surprising him and having it done. Well, everyone I called wanted between $350 to $400 to install it. Which to me was outrageous! This great deal on a goal wasn't working out quite like we wanted.

So, Friday morning, Johnny and Wes started digging! They dug the hole and got the post set. Johnny will finish it up this weekend. Thanks so much Wes!

James watched and supervised from the back of Granddaddy's truck.
Annamarye and I worked on the reindeer food for their classrooms. I'll post a picture of the finished project later this week. They are really cute. We have made them for the kids' classes for years!

Lucy just relaxed in the back yard!
